The Future of Human Centric Companies

The Future of Human Centric Companies

Businesses that are running on the triple bottom line people, planet, profit of John Elkington, are companies who have moved from surface-level community interactions and stepped in as businesses with broader community impact, accountability to the local community and champions of social good. These businesses are not run for the sole purpose of generating personal profit for shareholders. Rather, these are enterprises who espouse a set of values that highlight growing the company in, by, and for their respective communities. These are companies who firmly believe that tight-knit and engaged communities can powerfully address social problems than traditional policies and programs. These are companies who have redesigned their businesses as communities. The crucial steps in redesigning businesses as communities involve shifting our mindsets from transactional to transformational practices, from personal gains to community gains, and from leadership to “communityship”. Join Lana Jelenjev, co-author of Community Builders: Designing Communities for Change as she closes this year's Community Builder's Summit with a talk around "The Future of Human Centric Companies". Cultivating Safe and Brave Spaces

Cultivating Safe and Brave Spaces

Community safety does not only revolve around physical safety. It also encompasses the perception members have on their emotional safety. Community safety allows for members who are engaged, who are keen to participate, and members who are able to express themselves. Another layer to expand on this notion of safe space is the understanding that, along with safe spaces we also need to create brave spaces for our members to fully show up. In safe spaces, member can explore ideas and express themselves without feeling marginalized. In brave spaces, full and equitable expression and participation from all the social identity groups are intentionally designed. How might we cultivate spaces where everyone actively participates and where the ability to share stories and experiences are equitable for everyone? ABOUT Anya Pearse from Let the Love In Anya is an intuitive adviser, compassion-focused positive psychology educator and consultant, and Head of Positive Psychology at The Museum of Happiness, where she co-facilitates their Certified Happiness Facilitator Training.
