About the Event
Community safety does not only revolve around physical safety. It also encompasses the perception members have on their emotional safety. Community safety allows for members who are engaged, who are keen to participate, and members who are able to express themselves. Another layer to expand on this notion of safe space is the understanding that, along with safe spaces we also need to create brave spaces for our members to fully show up. In safe spaces, member can explore ideas and express themselves without feeling marginalized. In brave spaces, full and equitable expression and participation from all the social identity groups are intentionally designed.
How might we cultivate spaces where everyone actively participates and where the ability to share stories and experiences are equitable for everyone?
